  1. personality, and design. they looked at the website i created, decided they liked my style and voila i had the job
  2. COMPUTER SKILLS! TALENT DOESN'T SEEM TO MATTER ANYMORE! IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME CHECK OUT THE ART INSTITUTES. YOUR ONLY REQUIRED ONE REAL DRAWING CLASS. THE REST IS COMPUTER RELATED!
  3. Your past experience and your portfolio. As for advice, just take what work you can in the beginning. Maybe look for an internship to get you some real world experience.
  4. Question for you. Do you care about making awesome graphic design work, or are you just in it to get any ol' job? Knowing the answer to that makes a bit of difference in the answer to your question. If you're looking for any 'ol job, then yes, computer skills will be most important. And of course, if you go into an interview and act like a jerk, they aren't going to hire you, so personality matters. If you want to get a job where you can make awesome graphic design, then although you will need computer skills, your employer will be much more interested in the other skills you have. They'll be looking for a portfolio that shows you have a solid understanding of design, typography, color, style, concept, and (yes) drawing skills. The more skill you can offer, the more job opportunities you will have. Just keep that in mind.
  5. portfolio that matches the style they're looking for. get on with them in interview. that's it.
